The UIC HIN group had a large representation at the online version of Hard Probes 2020 Conference scheduled to take place at Austin, Texas. It was the tenth installment of the conference with focus on experimental and theoretical developments on perturbative probes of hot and dense QCD matter as studied in high-energy nucleus-nucleus, proton-nucleus and proton-proton collisions. Geonhee Oh delivered a talk on new opportunities in heavy ion physics at HL-LHC with a MIP Timing Detector at the CMS experiment. Xiao Wang of the CMS Collaboration, presented the first results of jet shapes for identified b-jets in pp collisions. Dhanush Hangal presented results on understanding jet energy loss in the QGP using the first measurements of jet charge in heavy ion collisions. Niseem Magdy presented results on Chiral Magnetic Effect and Beam-energy and collision-system dependence of the linear and mode-coupled flow harmonics from STAR. Ziyue Zhang presented a parallel talk on Cold Nuclear Matter Effects on J/? and Υ Productions at RHIC with the STAR Experiment.

UIC HIN group members participated in the Quark Matter 2019 Conference in Wuhan, China. It was the twenty-eighth installment of the conference with focus on the fundamental understanding of strongly-interacting matter at extreme conditions of high temperature and density, as formed in ultra-relativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions. Dhanush Hangal presented results on understanding jet energy loss in the QGP using the first measurements of jet charge in heavy ion collisions. Jussi Viinikainen presented a poster on studying the QGP using jet-track correlations in dijet events. Niseem Magdy presented results on Chiral Magnetic Effect and Beam-energy and collision-system dependence of the linear and mode-coupled flow harmonics from STAR. Ziyue Zhang presented results on Cold Nuclear Matter Effects on J/? and Υ Productions at RHIC with the STAR Experiment. Results of b-jet shapes in pp collisions, led by Xiao Wang of the CMS Collaboration, were also shown as a part of various talks.
